The Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA) has today announced that the SmartBeef conference will be based out of the Country Music Capital of Tamworth, New South Wales this October 11-12, and will be held on site at Elders Killara Feedlot, showcasing the latest in feedlot research and development.
SmartBeef is the premier technical conference for the Australian lot feeding sector and will be a great opportunity for participants from the whole supply chain to gather to learn, connect, and celebrate collective successes of the past 12 months.
ALFA President, Barb Madden, said the ALFA Events Committee is proud to present a truly hands-on program that promises to deliver real value to businesses and staff alike, across two days of activities.
“We really tried to take SmartBeef back to its roots this year,” Barb said.
“The program will open with the SmartBeef23 dinner on October 11, held in Tamworth, and will host the presentation of the ALFA Young Lot Feeder of the Year Award, along with a talent show.
The following day will feature a full day on feedlot with a technically-focused program that will demonstrate the latest in research and development.
“Everyone will then have a chance to let their hair down with a casual sundown function on farm, after a big day of learning.”
The program is set to include a number of well-known industry experts that will provide unparalleled access for delegates to hear direct from the researcher, nutritionist, veterinarian or tech specialist on a variety of technically focused topics.
“Delegates can expect to walk away from this event informed and better connected with their industry peers.
Sponsorship opportunities will be offered from May. Businesses are encouraged to register their interest at the SmartBeef website to be notified when positions open.
The ALFA SmartBeef23 program is due to be released in June 2023 and registrations will open soon after via the conference website [www.smartbeef.com.au].
