MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (Grassdale Feedlot, Grassdale QLD)

An opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at Grassdale Feedlot Operations at Grassdale encompass a modern 78,000 head feedlot operation, organic fertiliser production and farming activities. Grassdale is a modern industrial scale site with a diverse range of functions, plant, and equipment. Scale of operations are typified by the milling and feeding of 1000 tonnes of ration per day and the extraction and handling of 100,000 tonnes of manure per year.

Functions of the role include:

Reporting directly to the Feedlot Manager and working closely with the other sectional supervisors, the Maintenance Supervisor needs to oversee the:

  • Maintenance of all plant, equipment and infrastructure including light vehicles, heavy vehicles (trucks, loaders), feed milling, commodity storage and cattle yards and handling infrastructure

  • Maintenance of the site including pen cleaning/ repairs, road work operations and vegetation control

  • Maintenance services to new and emerging business units onsite, including a fertiliser granulation plant and stock feeds lick block and pelleting plant

  • Control of fleet & inventory management systems

  • Provide input & advice on development projects within the feedlot

Requirements for the successful applicant:

  • Relevant mechanical experience &/or trade certificate or a similar supervisory role

  • Advanced communication, organisational and computer literacy skills

  • Moderate record keeping, data processing and Fleet Management system abilities

  • Strong focus on, and understanding of, Workplace Health & Safety

  • Strong troubleshooting ability

  • Broad knowledge and experience in a wide range of fixed and mobile plant and equipment
