Group Training Session - Remove Animal from Pen & Horse Husbandry (Jul 3)



Join resident facilitator, Jeff House, live as he guides you and the team through the modules Remove Animal from Pen & Horse Husbandry, the fifth and sixth modules within the Fundamentals of Pen Riding Complete Course on Feedlot TECH. The access fee is per feedlot/business, and covers all staff that wish to partake in the training session. Date: Wednesday, 3rd of July 2024 Time: 3:30 - 4:30pm

Post registration, you will receive a zoom link to save to your calendar and access the training. Those who attend and participate in the session will have their Feedlot TECH training transcript updated automatically.


These online courses cover the steps to safely and effectively remove animals from their pens and best practices for riding and managing horses in the feedlot.

Learning outcomes and competencies By the end of this module, you will learn to:

  • Recognise the challenges associated with isolating a social animal

  • Follow safe work practices

  • Identify potential risks involved with removing an animal

  • Record vital information about the animal being removed

  • Apply low-stress handling techniques to effectively isolate and remove an animal

  • Determine if a horse is suitable for the feedlot environment

  • Provide basic horse husbandry

  • Meet your responsibilities for horse health and welfare

  • Minimise the risk of injury to horse and rider

  • Care for your equipment
