About Feedlot TECH
Launched in 2021, Feedlot TECH is an initiative of Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA), in collaboration with Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) as part of the Australian Feedlot Sector Career Development and Training Strategy (2016).
Feedlot Fundamentals
The Feedlot TECH Training Hub provides access to online training covering core practical feedlot skills that can be completed at any time or location and can be easily integrated into daily operations and onsite training. ALFA, in collaboration with MLA, develop Feedlot Fundamentals online eLearning series' covering the key areas in feedlot operations. Accessing Online Training - Options

Feedlot TECH Lite – A limited range of entry level courses across the different training areas as well as the various MLA courses are free to enrol in. Check the section below for the full list of courses that are free of charge.

Annual subscription – For those who have a greater demand for staff training, a subscription provides all staff under the feedlot site access to all Feedlot TECH training, as well as access to every monthly group training sessions (a saving of $330 per session).

Pay-as-you-go – For those who don’t need a subscription, you can opt to pay as you go. Besides the free courses available, all Fundamental Courses on Feedlot TECH are available to enrol in for $100 + GST per enrolment.
Discounts Available
Take advantage of the introductory offer on subscriptions for both ALFA members and non-members, valid until June 30, 2025. There are substantial discounts available to Members of ALFA too. If committing to a full subscription is not for you, you can access additional Feedlot TECH Fundamental courses for just $110 (inc GST) per course enrolment. This pay-as-you-go option allows you to invest in specific training modules that match your immediate needs.

Subscriptions
For close to a decade ALFA, in partnership with MLA, has been steely focused on providing the Australian cattle feedlot sector, its businesses and current and prospective employees with clear career development pathways. Attracting, retaining and growing the capacity of the feedlot workforce by providing training, professional development and support networks has enabled our sector to thrive.
One of the biggest and most valuable outputs to come from the Feedlot Career Development and Training (FCDT) Strategy (2019) is the development of the online Feedlot Careers, Education and Training Hub (Feedlot TECH), and the feedlot-specific eLearning courses, tools and resources that it provides access to.
With a full suite of Feedlot Fundamental courses now available on the platform and with plans to expand the catalogue, Feedlot TECH is evolving to a commercial model as at January 31, 2025. Only a limited selection of courses will remain free of charge post this date.
Access to the full suite of Feedlot Fundamental courses will be via an annual subscription or single purchase. A subscription provides a business and their nominated staff access to all Feedlot Fundamental Courses, providing cost effective access for staff training.
All subscriptions will be renewed on July 1 each year, as part of the ALFA Membership renewal process. Any users remaining on the platform without a subscription post January 31, 2025 will regrettably cease to have access.
