Updated: 6 days ago

It’s time for your feedlot to shine - seize the opportunity to participate in the prestigious Australian Feedlot of the Year Competition! With only a few weeks left to enter, now is your chance to showcase the best your feedlot has to offer and receive invaluable feedback that can transform your operation.

Initiated by ALFA in 1991, this highly regarded competition is designed to recognise and celebrate feedlots operating at the forefront of industry excellence.

The real gem lies in the feedback all entrants receive - an individualised and highly valuable benchmarking analysis of your feedlot's performance and practices.

This feedback is an exceptional resource, providing you with a deep understanding of your operation and areas for growth. Armed with these insights, you can fine-tune your processes, boost efficiency, and elevate your feedlot to new heights of productivity and success.

Donnybrook-based feedlot Paradise Beef was named the 2021 Australian Lot Feeder of the Year in the under 3000-head category. Owned and operated by Gary and Josie Dimasi, the business was built from scratch in 2009 and was recognised by ALFA for its innovative approach to animal welfare.

Mr Dimasi said the Australian Feedlot of the Year competition was a “great way” to promote your brand to clients.

“Programs like this allow you to measure your operation with others so you can improve.”

He encouraged others in the industry to enter the competition as an opportunity to showcase their operation, saying “[The] feedback given can help improve areas you may be struggling in.”

In addition to the valuable feedback, finalists are given the spotlight during the winner announcement at ALFA’s renowned BeefEx Conference.

This is your opportunity to showcase your dedication to excellence and gaining well-deserved recognition for your contributions to the feedlot sector.

This is the perfect chance to elevate your feedlot business to new levels of success. Enter the Australian Feedlot of the Year Competition before the cut off date, August 31: time is ticking, so take this opportunity to gain valuable feedback, and showcase your feedlot's brilliance.
