ABOUT
The Australian feedlot industry values and supports a dynamic, engaged and skilled workforce. The ‘Medal’ as it’s affectionately known by lot feeders across the country is designed to recognise those individuals actively investing in upskilling themselves in the fundamentals of lot feeding through eLearning in Feedlot Fundamentals through the Australian Feedlot Training, Education & Careers Hub, Feedlot TECH.
For a chance to win 1 of 3 Education Medal “Master of Lot Feeding” Prizes entrants must meet the below entry criteria and fill out the online entry form.
A maximum of 6 entrants will progress to second round judging, which takes place in the form of an online interview with the entrant and their manager. From this round, a maximum of 3 entrants will be named "Masters of Lot Feeding" and awarded a complimentary ticket to ALFA's BeefEx Conference in October 2024, where the overall Medal winner will be announced.
ENTRY CRITERIA
To be eligible for entry, applicants must:

Entrants must be employed at a current financial member of the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA).

Entrants must be a registered user on ALFA’s eLearning platform, Feedlot TECH (https://feedlottech.learnupon.com/users/sign_up).

Entrants must have reached a ‘General Hand’ badge level (100 pts +) on Feedlot TECH to be eligible. You can check your score when logged into your Feedlot TECH account.

Have completed all sections of the entry form and provided all necessary documents.

All entrants agree to be part of the promotion of the Medal and agree to allow ALFA, the sponsor, and other interested parties to promote their involvement in the Medal.

Be available for an online interview in August/September for the Second Round of Judging, if named a Finalist.

Be available to attend the ALFA BeefEx Conference, if named in the Top 3, for the announcement of the Overall Winner.

Agree to be a part of the promotion of the Medal.
To enter, you need to complete and submit the following:

A completed online entry form that includes brief questions on the following:
1) Tell us about the nominated eLearning course/module you have undertaken. Please select only one.
2) Describe the impact that the skills and knowledge acquired from the nominated eLearning have had on your role and/or the operations of the feedlot.
3) What has been the significance of investing in your personal development through upskilling and acquiring knowledge.
4) Tell us about your career aspirations within the feedlot industry.

Attach a head shot image (size 1MB >) of yourself for use in promotion of the Medal and your entry, as necessary.
SELECTION CRITERIA

Entries will be judged upon:
- Their application of learning and subsequent impact on their role/feedlot operation (50%)
- Their appreciation and desire to continually invest in ongoing personal development (25%)
- Their desire to achieve further in the cattle feedlot industry (25%)

The Top 3 scoring entrants will be offered an all expense paid trip to the Australian grain fed beef industry's premier national conference, BeefEx, hosted by ALFA. Included in the prize is a full conference registration, 2-nights' accommodation, travel assistance, and a ticket to the exclusive ALFA Alumni Networking Function, immediate before the conference.
