Attracting, retaining, and growing a skilled workforce remains a top priority for the Australian Lot Feeders' Association (ALFA). To support this, ALFA has established the ALFA Future Feeders Network (FFN) – an exciting initiative designed to engage and empower young professionals in the lot feeding industry.

The Australian lot feeding industry is a vital part of the livestock production chain, bridging the gap between primary producers and the supply chain. Through the ALFA FFN, we aim to build a dynamic, inclusive network where the next generation can explore career paths, develop skills, and actively contribute to the future of the sector.

Our vision is to nurture and support tomorrow’s leaders in creating a sustainable, ethical, and profitable industry that is valued by the community for producing high-quality grain-fed beef to the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental stewardship.

The network is driven by the ALFA FFN Committee (applications are currently open, closing midnight 8 December 2024 – click here to submit your application), under the guidance of ALFA’s Industry Capacity Committee, and will take the lead in delivering strategic, industry-focused activities aimed at fostering connections and collaboration. Expressions of interest are currently being accepted to join the inaugural committee and the ALFA Future Feeders Network as a member.
